Haircuts

Ethan and Abby got a special treat the other week. We went to this hair salon for kids near Washington Square. Ethan was so excited! Funny though since he doesn't get that excited when I cut his hair =). Anyway, he loved it. He was able to watch Thomas and pick his car or airplane to sit in. He was so excited when he learned he was coming back the next day for Abby's haircut. That meant he could play with all the toys. Abby enjoyed the toys too and her first haircut. She wanted to jump up and down and dance the whole time.

We took Abby in for a few reasons. She was beginning to get the Carol Brady look in the back like she had when she was a few months old. Also whenever she took her bow out, which is often, she couldn't see because her bangs were too long.

She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time. I had to snap a couple shots.

I love this one

Ethan and Thomas the Train

So for Ethan's birthday this year we took him to see Thomas the Train at the Memorial
Coliseum. We didn't tell him where we were going until we were at the MAX station (watch the video). We road the MAX, which is exciting on it's own, to the show. After sitting in our seats for a bit and watching a few cast members entertain us, we heard a whistle. I wish you could have seen his face. The perfect mixture of joy and surprise. You guessed it, it was Thomas. It was an evening filled with songs, audience participation and looking over at Ethan every few seconds. As you can tell by the last picture, Ethan had a great time. In fact, when it was over, he asked if he could do it again =).

Here is a picture after the show was over. I think he liked it =)

Thank Goodness it Wasn't a Sharpie

Saturday my parent's came with us to watch Eric and Jim coach their 5th and 6th grade basketball team. On our way back, I was busy talking to my mom in the back seat. I was letting Ethan play with an activity book. I was so into my conversation with my mom that I didn't notice Ethan being super quiet. What was he doing you ask?

He was having the time of his life!
It was hard to get it all in one picture, but he drew on both cheeks, both hands and the inside of his left hand.

It came off super easy. I couldn't help but laugh. All I could think in the car was that I couldn't wait to get home to take pictures. He brought some joy to my day for sure.
